Course or single session? When the package is genuinely better value

Courses are cheaper per session, which is not the same as better value. The question is whether the treatment needs a course to work at all.

Almost every treatment on our list is offered as a single session or a discounted course. The discount is real — usually 15 to 25 percent. But a discount on something you did not need is not a saving, and the genuinely useful question is different.

It is this: does this treatment produce a result from one session, or does one session produce a third of a result?

Treatments where a course is how it works

For these, a single session is not a smaller version of the treatment. It is an incomplete one, and judging it on that basis will disappoint you.

TreatmentProtocolSingleCourse
Polynucleotides (eyes)3 sessions, 2–3 weeks apart£150£400
Polynucleotides (face)3 sessions, 2–3 weeks apart£175£460
Profhilo (face)2 sessions, 4 weeks apart£250£430
Profhilo (face & neck)2 sessions, 4 weeks apart£400£720
Ejal 403 sessions, 2–3 weeks apart£150£400
PRP hair3 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart£160£420
PRP or exosome facial3 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart£150 / £250£400 / £640
Fat dissolving2–4 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart£90 / £100£240 / £270

The common thread: they all work by prompting a biological process that needs repeated stimulus. One session starts something that is not finished.

Treatments that stand alone

These produce a genuine, complete result from one appointment:

The honest maths on anti-wrinkle courses

Three areas: £250 single, £640 for three. That is about £213 a session — a saving of £110 across the year if you were going to have all three anyway.

Buying a year of a treatment you have never had is buying a discount on an unknown.

The rule we would apply

  1. Never buy a course of something you have not had before, unless the protocol requires a course to work at all.
  2. For protocol-driven treatments, buy the course. A single session of polynucleotides or Profhilo is money spent on an unfinished treatment.
  3. For maintenance treatments, buy singles until you know your rhythm. Some people need a facial monthly, some six-weekly.
  4. Do not buy a course to lock in a promotional price if you are unsure about the treatment.

Questions worth asking

For the record: our course sessions do not expire on a fixed date. If a plan changes at a review, the remaining value moves with it.

The genuinely bad reason to buy a course

Because it is offered at the end of a treatment, while you are pleased with how the appointment went and are being asked to decide on the spot.

That is a decision made at the least rational moment available. Anything worth buying is still worth buying a week later, and a clinic that will not hold a price for a week has told you what the price meant.

If you are weighing more than one treatment, the sequencing guide is worth reading before committing to any of it.

Common questions

Is a course of treatments better value?

Only if the treatment needs a course to work, or if you already know you want repeat sessions. For protocol-driven treatments like polynucleotides or Profhilo, the course is the treatment. For maintenance treatments, buy singles until you know your rhythm.

Should I buy a course on my first treatment?

Not unless the protocol requires it. For a treatment you have never had, a single session tells you how you respond and how long it lasts on you before you commit to a year.

Is one Profhilo session enough?

No. The two-session protocol four weeks apart is the treatment, not a recommendation. A single session is half a treatment at 62 percent of the course price.

Do course sessions expire?

At Polished Beauty London course sessions do not expire on a fixed date, and if the plan changes at a review the remaining value moves with it.
